Our Commerce Recurring Donation Widget Featured in The Drop Times
The Drop Times recently covered our Commerce Recurring Donation Widget, a new Drupal Commerce module that handles both one-time and recurring donations for non-profits and fundraising organizations.
What Makes It Different
The widget focuses on donor personalization. Through AJAX-powered modals in the shopping cart, donors can add dedications, select fund designations, and leave comments. All donation forms are responsive and can be customized for different campaigns on the same site.
Administrators configure donation forms using Commerce Product Variations and set billing intervals through the Commerce Recurring module. Organizations can run multiple donation campaigns simultaneously with distinct configurations.
Built Through Partnership
We developed this module with Association Montessori Internationale, ensuring it addresses real fundraising needs. The collaboration helped us understand how donors interact with online giving platforms and what features matter most to both donors and administrators.
Technical Details
The module works with Drupal 9, 10, and 11. Installation follows standard practices via Composer and Drush. Configuration happens through the Drupal Commerce admin interface, with complete setup instructions in the README.
We're actively developing the module and welcome community feedback through the Drupal.org issue queue. Bug reports and feature requests help us improve the tool for the broader non-profit community.
Why This Matters
Many non-profits struggle with donation platforms that don't integrate well with their existing Drupal sites or lack customization options. This module bridges that gap by providing sophisticated donation management within the familiar Drupal Commerce framework.
The focus on donor experience means higher completion rates and better engagement. When donors can personalize their gifts and easily modify contributions, they're more likely to give again.
Getting Started
Organizations interested in implementing the widget can find it on Drupal.org. The module includes documentation for both technical implementation and campaign configuration.
Whether you're managing a small community organization or a large non-profit, the Commerce Recurring Donation Widget provides the flexibility needed for effective online fundraising without requiring separate platforms or complex integrations.
